Their value is real. What’s missing is a fair road to the right buyer, often in another city, sometimes in another country. So they stay put, or leave for much less than they deserve.

Who’s behind it

Dheeraj Goyal

Founder

Twenty years building brands. A lifetime of loving old things.

For two decades, Dheeraj has been building consumer brands, first across FMCG and most recently as co-founder of an omnichannel brand that grew from zero to ₹100 Cr in four years. Along the way that work has taken him into more than 2,000 stores, onto every major marketplace, to design awards in Germany and onto stages in Paris and New York. And through all of it, one lesson keeps proving true: customers return to the names they trust.

TheBidRoom is growing out of a quiet gap he keeps seeing from both sides. On one side are families and collectors holding pieces of real worth, a father’s coin album, a shelf of old books, a poster that once hung outside a single-screen cinema, with no fair way to part with them and no one to tell them what they’re truly worth. On the other are buyers searching for exactly those pieces, who don’t know where to shop without second-guessing every listing. Both are waiting on the same thing, and it isn’t a better price. It’s trust. So TheBidRoom is being built as the place where they meet: every piece looked at closely, fairly valued, and made simple to buy or sell with thoughtful technology. A fair deal for the person letting go, and confidence for the person taking it home.

Now he’s building the road India’s collectibles never had.
